Narooma Forest Rally to Decide Key Championships

Event Date: Saturday 13 September 2025

The 2025 Techworkz Automotive Stages and Horizon Apartments Narooma Forest Rally is set to bring top level rallying back to the NSW South Coast this Saturday, 13th September. The event is the penultimate round of the Shamrock Haulage NSW Rally Championship, supported by MRF Tyres and Pinnacle Tyres, and will also host the final round of the East Coast Classic Rally Series (ECCRS) along with the penultimate round of the NSW Clubman Rally Series.

With a quality 48 car entry list and championship points on the line, Narooma is shaping up as one of the most important rallies of the 2025 season.

Shamrock Haulage NSW Rally Championship

The NSWRC, proudly supported by Shamrock Haulage, remains the premier rally competition in the state and the battle for the 2025 title is wide open. Tony Sullens and Kaylie Newell lead the way, topping both the drivers’ and co-drivers’ championships after a strong season in their Citroën DS3. Breathing down their necks are Jody Mill and Lachlan Moore, both looking to capitalise at Narooma and carry momentum into the finale.

Adding extra spice to the outright fight is the presence of national level competitors including Harry and Lewis Bates, Taylor Gill, and Scott Pedder, ensuring the South Coast forests will see a world class contest.

East Coast Classic Rally Series Season Finale

The Narooma Rally also marks the last round of the 2025 East Coast Classic Rally Series (ECCRS). While the leading 2WD contenders, Jeffrey David, Ross Yendle and Robert Gorst, are not entered, the event has still attracted a strong lineup of classic machinery. Fans can look forward to Nathan Quinn’s flame spitting Mazda RX2, Tom Clarke’s Datsun Stanza, and Escorts driven by Matt Jones and Daniel Mc Aloon, all of whom will be out to put on a show.

The ECCRS 4WD battle remains alive, with Mark Lacey and Dennis Stanford entered at Narooma and separated by just two points. With the series title on the line, every stage kilometre will matter.

NSW Clubman Rally Series

The Narooma event also plays a crucial role in the NSW Clubman Rally Series, which is aimed at supporting grassroots competitors. Ron McKinnon leads the way on 25 points, with Blake Stevens and Mark Lacey close behind. In the co-drivers’ standings, Steve McKinnon holds a narrow advantage over Stephen Kent and Tyler Schippan. With just one more round to follow, the fight for Clubman honours will be fierce across the Narooma stages.

The Event

The rally is based at Club Narooma. NSWRC and ECCRS competitors will tackle 175 competitive kilometres across nine stages, while Clubman and ACTRRS crews will cover 152 kilometres over eight stages. The ceremonial start begins at 10:00 AM at Bill Smyth Memorial Oval, with the finish and awards presentation at Club Narooma.
