The Shamrock Haulage NSW Rally Championship delivered another thrilling round at the Toyota Gazoo Racing Narooma Forest Rally, with a dominant victory by Josh Redhead and Ray Winwood-Smith and a dramatic reshuffle of the championship standings.

Redhead and Winwood-Smith were in outstanding form throughout the event, guiding their Mitsubishi Lancer EVO 5 to outright victory. Their performance also earned them the Production Cup win and a valuable haul of championship points.

Tony Sullens and Julia Barkley continued their remarkable consistency with another strong finish in second aboard their Peugeot 208 AP4, while Bethany Cullen and Mel McMinn completed the outright podium in third in their Mitsubishi Lancer EVO.

The 2WD category was won by Robert and Joanne Gorst, who steered their classic Datsun 1600 to another impressive class victory.

Championship Leaders Change

Narooma has reshaped the Shamrock Haulage NSW Rally Championship standings.

Tony Sullens and Julia Barkley’s consistent results across the opening two rounds have seen them move into the championship lead heading into Round 3.

Reigning champions Richie Dalton and Mac Kierans have slipped to second after retiring in Heat 1 at Narooma. While they bounced back to claim maximum Heat 2 points, the lost points from Saturday proved costly.

Josh Redhead and Ray Winwood-Smith’s dominant Narooma victory has elevated them to third in the championship standings, firmly placing them in the title fight as the season reaches its midpoint.

With three crews now separated by only a handful of points, the battle for the 2026 Shamrock Haulage NSW Rally Championship is shaping up to be one of the closest in recent years.

Attention now turns to the 2026 Lazer Rally of the Bay at Batemans Bay on Saturday, 25 July, where another valuable haul of championship points will be on offer.
