Scrutineering Information & Forms

For each event, please check the Supplementary Regulations to determine what the scrutineering requirements are for that specific event. Scrutineering may be available at events, usually the night before or in the hours immediately before competition commences. Alternatively, there is a system of Regional Scrutineering throughout NSW. This allows you to take your car to a Regional Scrutineer in the week prior to the event and have it scrutineered, rather than having to arrive at the event earlier and get in a long queue. Regional scrutineering is encouraged, as it reduces the load on event organisers, and offers more flexibility to competitors. Self Scrutiny may also be an option provided.

Before having your car regionally scrutineered, please consider the following:

• Check the Supplementary Regulations – some event organisers make certain arrangements for scrutineering and may require you to advise them if you are organising regional scrutineering. Understand the requirements of every unique event.
• Book an appointment. Regional scrutineers are all volunteers and may need to fit you in to their work schedule, so please call and arrange a time with them. Never just “show up”.
• Scrutineering generally needs to be completed within 7 days prior to an event but do check the Supplementary Regulations for that event.
• Take your vehicle in a ready to rally condition. If driving lights will be used at an event, have those fitted and operational as well.
• Take your personal safety gear with you to scrutineering (e.g.helmets, driving suits, etc)
• Take your documents with you, including your vehicle’s log book
• If you have any doubt or questions, phone the Clerk of Course or Event Secretary for clarification

The list of Regional Scrutineers is available in the table below.  Call your nearest scrutineer to make a booking.  Then, take the completed scrutineering form with you to the event to present to the Event Secretary at pre-event Document Verification.
